Sheila doesn't really specify in her books how long the nap should continue but since everything is child led, once a child isn't napping I would assume it's safe to not worry about the nurse/nap with the older child, if you're taking one with the baby. As far as logistics, i had one child who learned to cuddle my back while I laid in my side nursing the baby, and didn't need to nurse for the nap. Other times, I would nurse one child first and get them to sleep, then do the other child. Sometimes that meant getting baby down first, sneaking away, going to toddler, then going back to baby for the nap. Other times, I nursed simultaneously like this: I laid on my back, with my older nursing tuxked in my arm nursing one side. The baby would nurse on the other side but baby and I would be tummy to tummy with the baby laying on top of me. I supported the babies head with my arm and tucking a pillow under my arm on that side. Once the toddler fell asleep I could roll over comfortably with the baby in the side laying position. Hope that makes sense and helps!Neasehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03746619793701038998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2274118566185537579.post-15544523376369246492017-03-22T12:16:07.443-07:002017-03-22T12:16:07.443-07:00Thanks! Any tips on how you specifically handled nursing both the newborn and toddler for naps/to sleep, and the Ecological Breastfeeding daily nursing-nap? We just night weaned my current nursling (23 months old) and I'm guessing we'll end up tandem nursing when the next is born this fall.Lexy Raehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02911337900838941609noreply@blogger.com
