World Breatfeeding Week 2019

St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe, NM invited the Catholic Nursing Mothers League to have a table (bottom picture) at their World Breastfeeding Week celebration.  Also in attendance was the lactation staff at St. Vincent's (third picture), the Santa Fe chapter of the NM Breastfeeding Taskforce (second picture), and United Way.  They sure spoiled us!  I received beautiful flowers to take home, meal tickets for me and 3 of my children that attended, and a lot of small but fun Catholic and breastfeeding related goodies!

Quite a few people stopped at the CNML table: the hospital chaplain, the head nurse of the hospital, lots of other hospital staff who were Catholic or expecting/breastfeeding, and expecting moms on their way to their doctor appointments.

I gave NFP and ecological breastfeeding brochures and books to a fellow lactation consultant thinking of training to teach NFP.  I gave away 3 infinity scarf nursing covers - 2 of them to a man whose wife just had a baby a week ago.  One man took several Our Lady of La Leche medals and holy cards to take to nursing moms he knows.  All the new rosary bracelets and Our Lady of La Leche bookmarks went and most of the one decade rosaries.

My kids did well.  There was an eating area just a few feet away where they did way too much electronics time for the day.  I am glad I represented CNML and I am looking forward to next year!
