Support for Mothering

(Italienerin mit ihrem Kind im Garten - public domain)

Sometimes it can be lonely being a mom! I wanted to share some ways for you to get support!

1. Attend the CNML monthly online meeting!

2. Look in your church bulletin for a moms’ group or a playgroup.

3. Look in your community for a moms’ group or playgroup. Many towns have Facebook groups for moms with local resources and local meetups. CNML also has a Facebook group

4. Check your local YMCA for a strollers exercise group or a postpartum exercise group.

5. Walking with Purpose has online Bible study groups or maybe your church has a Bible study group of some sort that you could bring your children to. It doesn’t hurt to ask!

6. Books! I have read many, many mothering books over the years. These books have helped provide a support system for me for mothering. Here are a few of my favorites:

  • The heart has its own reasons: Mothering wisdom for the 1980s (Yes, you read that right - this book is from the 1980s! However, it is such a sweet, darling book by one of the Founders of LLL! It has practical ideas for moms to be able to stay home with their children if they want to. Thank you, SusanMary!)
