Happy Anniversary to CNML!

This month is the 20th anniversary of the Catholic Nursing Mothers League! We still are a small grassroots organization, but we sure have grown with over 30 mentors around the world, a website with over 200 articles, and a monthly online breastfeeding support group meeting! I am honored to lead this ministry and am happy to help nursing moms all over the world! 

It all started in late 2005/early 2006. After reading Sheila Kippley's book, Breastfeeding and Catholic Motherhood, I contacted Sheila about her idea of volunteer lactation consultants leading breastfeeding support group meetings in parishes. At the time, I was studying to become an IBCLC. Sheila put me in touch with Pam Pilch who had also contacted her about her idea and we began setting up CNML  We eventually became incorporated in the state of New Mexico and we also achieved 501(c)3 status. We provide online and in person support and also gift packages of breastfeeding books and nursing mother gift bags through the generosity of those who provide financial support and through those who volunteer as mentors.
