This letter in the International Breastfeeding Journal discusses how replacing the concept of breastfeeding with human milk milk feeding doesn’t actually promote equality for women but actually marginalizes women. Returning to a focus on breastfeeding will increase support for moms.
This study has not been peer reviewed. However, it found that bacterial levels remain stable when leftover breastmilk is in the refrigerator for 8 hours and 4-8 hours at room temperature. This and additional research could lead to revised guidelines and less waste of breastmilk.
This study supports the role of breastfeeding in reducing breast cancer incidence especially for breastfeeding durations of 11 months or longer.
This study found less evidence of colic in exclusively breastfed babies.
