The Amazing Impact of Nursing Mothers on the Environment

In late November 2021, UNICEF will be hosting an online conference devoted to breastfeeding and climate change.  This will take place just a few weeks after the UN conference on climate change that is currently going on right now.  

Scientific studies show that by increasing breastfeeding rates, we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase the sustainability of the global food supply, reduce our carbon footprint, and reduce waste.  One particular study looking at carbon emissions showed that if all mothers in the UK breastfeed for just 6 months, the reduction in carbon emissions would be the same as removing 50,000-77,500 cars from the road for a year!  This is such an amazing impact!
