After Labor Day

(U.S. Breastfeeding Committee)

Labor Day - not the federal holiday but the day your sweet baby was born - is a very special day. You most likely prepared for the day by attending childbirth classes and by reading up on the process of birth. Maybe you practiced breathing exercises. Then when your baby was born, it was so exciting and also probably a bit of a relief.

However, the next part of your journey will last much longer than a day. Your breastfeeding journey and your life as a nursing mom will continue for many months or years. This is why the Catholic Nursing Mothers League (CNML) exists - to provide information, to inspire you, and to support you emotionally and spiritually.

This month our online meeting will be on the topic of self-care. I encourage to join us to learn and fellowship with us and to pray with us. We always pray during every meeting.

There is also a directory of CNML mentors here on our website. Take a look and see if a CNML mentor lives close to you. You can contact her to see if she holds in person CNML meetings. Mentors are experienced nursing moms who are here to befriend you and to give you information about common breastfeeding issues. If you have a more complex breastfeeding concern, you are welcome to contact me at catholicbreastfeeding@yahoo.com

I also mail out care packages as gifts. If a breastfeeding book or a prayer shawl or a gift bag will help you feel encouraged in your breastfeeding journey, you are very welcome to email me with your mailing address.
