Today’s Scripture reading: Luke 11:27-28
Here is today’s Gospel reading:
While Jesus was speaking,
a woman from the crowd called out and said to him,
“Blessed is the womb that carried you
and the breasts at which you nursed.”
He replied, “Rather, blessed are those
who hear the word of God and observe it.”
I just love it when breastfeeding is mentioned in the Bible especially the Gospels! It was a normal part of everyday life for the early Christians. But it also was a very special relationship between moms and babies. Breastfeeding is the same today. Sometimes the most ordinary things can be the most beautiful. The leaves changing color in autumn. Rainbows after a rainstorm. A mom nursing her baby.
